The Series O hemispherical heating mantle is to be used with 100ml round bottom flasks for even heating and maximum surface coverage. It features fabric exterior and interior and can withstand 400 deg.C internal operating temperature.

Regulating the heat on these multiposition extraction mantles is simple using the built-in solid-state electronic controls. Built for versatility, the units accept round-bottom flasks ranging from 100 to 1000 mL. Each mantle position has an independent heater, allowing liquids with different boiling points to be heated alongside each other, up to a maximum element temperature range of 450C. Each independent heater has its own control dial, on/off switch, and indicator light. If applicable, the light also indicates power supplied to stirring function. The lower part of the unit containing the control equipment is safely separated from the upper heating elements by a well-ventilated air space. A quartz heating element is housed in a thermally insulated cartridge for easy replacement, extending the life of the heater. Powder-coated aluminum surfaces and polypropylene top cover ensure good chemical resistance and easy cleanup.

This mantle helps prevent vapor condensation in the upper half of a flask during distillation of high-boiling materials. The tops are designed for use with Series M, TM, or STM mantles. They protect the flask, the solutions, and the laboratory from drafts, which would disturb the reflux ration during fractionation, from flying glass of flask implosions in high vacuum distillations, from falling objects; and, from thermal strain between top and lower half of flask during high-temperature operations. These multiposition extraction heaters let you run several projects simultaneously by using either two or six individually controlled heating mantles. Heaters are supplied with back-mounted brackets to hold support rods up to 1/2" (12.7 mm) in diameter.
